You know all those inspiring stories about people taking an old house and renovating it completely? Making it their own...taking something from "old and busted" to "new hotness" with nothing more than a shoestring budget, a little imagination, and their own grit, moxy, determination, lunacy, naivete, ignorance, etc etc?
This same curse has befallen me.
